Evaluating Treatment
Efficacy
At MARS, we provide both sensitive
cognitive assessments and repeated testing.
Since the 1990s,
several drugs that may slow the progression of Alzheimer's Disease and other
dementias have been developed. Fortunately, drugs continue to be
developed that can potentially alter the course of dementias and/or increase
brain functioning under different circumstances.
MARS has the
capability to assess the effectiveness of drugs proposing to affect brain
functioning in both individuals and groups. The assessment of the
effectiveness of these drugs requires both sensitive cognitive assessments
and repeated testing. At MARS, we provide:
-
a comprehensive cognitive assessment
using the best clinical tools available
-
repeated assessment
-
statistical services to evaluate the
effects of drugs on these tests
-
report writing services to present
results in an easy to understand, yet accurate format
In addition to
using the best available clinical assessments, MARS can develop cognitive
assessments tailored to assess the cognitive effects of particular drugs.
One service
particularly useful for an individual on cognitive enhancing drugs is the
continued monitoring of the drugs' effectiveness. This information can
aid physicians in making more effective decisions about drug use and
dosages. |
